On the road to Emmaus, two disciples were walking away from Jerusalem after the crucifixion when a third person joined them. They were discussing the events of the previous days and were questioned by this stranger. After some conversation, the third party went to eat with them. As He took bread, blessed it and broke it, and gave it to them, their eyes were opened and they realized that their companion was Jesus.
Looking back on their time with Him, here’s how they described the event.

And they said to one another, “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?”
Shouldn’t the Word of God touch our hearts?
