Wisdom is the reward you get for a lifetime of listening when you would have preferred to talk.
– Doug Larson
My third-grade teacher said she knew I’d be a politician or a preacher because I wouldn’t shut up. I didn’t accumulate much wisdom that year. However, the next two years were governed by an authoritarian and wisdom was a byproduct. Fear was my friend although I didn’t realize it at the time.
But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.
The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice.
Shut up and listen. Give it some thought.
