Stability

The worst case scenarios can’t defeat those who seek refuge in God.

Mountains in the Bible sometimes represent stability.

What happens when our world becomes unstable?

One more time “Selah” means think of that.

Psalm 46:1-3

 God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.

Therefore we will not fear,
Even though the earth be removed,
And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

Though its waters roar and be troubled,
Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah

These aren’t suggestions but principles that guide believers during times of crisis.

Give it some thought.

Planting Season

Spring came early this year for Christians. It is time to get out the seed and start planting.

Galatians 6:7-10

7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. 9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.

Glad to be in the field with you people at this planting season.

Amazing Grace

America’s hymn

Amazing grace! how sweet the sound,
  That saved a wretch; like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
  Was blind, but now I see.

Legendary tenor Andrea Bocelli celebrated Easter Sunday with a special performance at Italy’s Duomo di Milano that was livestreamed all over the world.

He sang in English,”Amazing Grace”

The world heard it, but how many consider it?

The resounding truth is the unmerited favor of God to lost sinners with nothing to offer God is given to us freely.

Ephesians 1:7

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

Provision

Reaching a breaking point?

Here is a concept found in the Scriptures that gives us the comfort that He is very gentle with us and what little fire we might have He will never extinguish it.

Matthew 12:20

A bruised reed He will not break,
And smoking flax He will not quench,
Till He sends forth justice to victory;

In going through this time of uncertainty, it’s a tremendous comfort to be assured we are not without divine provision.

God bless you as you serve this day.

Real Security

Pundits and talking heads try to give us security, however, it doesn’t seem to be working.

Real security is found in the Word of God.

Proverbs 1:33

But whoever listens to Me will dwell safely, And will be secure, without fear of evil.”

Selah in Psalms means “think of that”. Well, maybe we should think of that here too.

Chaos and Confusion

In Isaiah’s day the nation was to return from exile and rebuild while surrounded by enemies. God had an encouraging Word for them to sustain them in a time of uncertainty.

Isaiah 41:10

So do not fear, for I am with you;
    do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
    I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

We are going through a period of chaos and confusion and the Timeless Book has a Word for us. God is still in control of all nations and events.

Give it some thought.
