Change

An old friend, who is in his eighties, can’t handle the traffic on the interstate anymore. He drives his age (80) and when cars and trucks are passing him, sweat runs done his face and his hands tremble on the wheel. There was a day when experiencing the danger of piloting an aircraft was exciting and riding a big motorcycle held no fear. Even jungles and snakes were just a part of the environment God had called him to. Those days are gone and he is now a normal 80-something.

Does the Bible address this? Glad you asked.

Ecclesiastes 12:4-5

When the doors are shut in the streets,
And the sound of grinding is low;
When one rises up at the sound of a bird,
And all the daughters of music are brought low.
Also they are afraid of height,
And of terrors in the way;
When the almond tree blossoms,
The grasshopper is a burden,
And desire fails.

If you are not there, you soon will be. This is only part of the course God has set us on. Time brings change God can help us accept.

Give it some thought and you might not want to ride with my friend.
