Dust

“Don’t Mess Around with Jim” was done by singer-songwriter Jim Croce and released in April of 1972. It was an account of the local bully who meets his match in a smaller guy with better weapons.

I found the song humorous because it relates the fact there is always someone better and being famous or infamous is short-lived.

You don’t tug on superman’s cape
You don’t spit into the wind
You don’t pull the mask off that old lone ranger
And you don’t mess around with Jim

Big and important from whose standpoint? It is what we are before God that counts. You’re not that great, so let the Creator tell it to you straight.

Psalm 103:14

For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.

Give it some thought, superman.
