My Knees

The following is taken from the lyrics of “In the Arms of the Angel” by Sarah McLachlan.

So tired of the straight line,
And everywhere you turn,
There’s vultures and thieves at your back.

The storm keeps on twisting.
Keep on building the lies
That you make up for all that you lack.

It don’t make no difference,
Escape one last time.
It’s easier to believe in this sweet madness,
Oh, this glorious sadness,
That brings me to my knees.

The last sentence is the one that caught my eye. In spite of the world’s craziness, thank God for that one trial that brings us to our knees.

Psalm 145:18

The Lord is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth.

After Saul was knocked off his horse, he could for the first time communicate with Jesus.

Give it some thought.
