Work

I just really appreciate people who serve well. Town managers, fire chiefs, police chiefs, community doctors, teachers, pastors and the list goes on. None of these individuals had an easy time because they all had to work with the public. Let me stress the word, work.

Paul’s letter to Timothy emphasized the need to be constantly ministering to believers:

1 Timothy 4:6

if you instruct the brethren in these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have carefully followed.

Sounds like work to me. Good teaching takes time and study. Some individuals need careful attention. Some need correction. Some need to be rescued from false doctrine and vanity. With others, you need to take a stand against their carnality and pride.

The goalpost is to fight the fight, finish the course, and keep the faith.

Give it some thought and spend the rest of your time ministering to others.
