Relief

Many of us have memories of the difficulties of putting together a swing set for the kids or a grill for the back yard. The frustration of trying to figure out the complicated directions can be overwhelming.

Thankfully, the most important information for mankind is not complicated.

Read carefully the following:

Romans 1:16

“I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes..”

I can understand that, the power to save me comes from God and not me. As the AlkaSeltzer advertisement goes, “Oh, what a relief it is.”

Invitation

God was giving Israel an invitation to enter into His plan for them.  One of the great invitations given to this nation happened over 2500 years ago.

Jeremiah 29:13

And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

God has given you an invitation to be part of His plan for this world and the one to come.  Don’t lose the invitation; use it because it is for a limited time only.

Two Roads

Robert Frost penned a decision that changes the trajectory of an individual’s life.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

The Apostle Paul chose a road less traveled.

Acts 24:20-24

And see, now I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that will happen to me there, except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that chains and tribulations await me. But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

Two roads will diverge and we will have to make a decision. But remember, you can’t return and choose the other.

Give it some thought.

Forgiveness

Interestingly, our love for God is directly proportional to the volume of sins forgiven by Him. In any case, it is a wonderful feeling to know He not only forgave us but took us into His family.

Luke 7:47

Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little loves little.”

I really appreciate those who do their jobs well. There is One who does all things perfectly. It’s good to know Him.

Think about it.

Solid Rock

The Apostle Paul discussed with the Ephesians the dangers, trials and difficulties he faced in the ministry God gave him. In spite of repeated blows, he was still standing on the Solid Rock.

Acts 24:24

But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

No one promises us an easy road, but God promises us all the tools necessary to finish well.

Faultless

The account of how God can make the impossible possible is seen in the narratives of Holy Writ.  Jude was addressing some believers who were trying to navigate a minefield of difficulties.

Jude 1:24

Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling,
And to present you faultless
Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,

As you consider life’s dilemmas, make sure to recall the tremendous promises of God. The way in which God carried His people when there seemed to be complete roadblocks confronting them is encouraging.

Answer

Politics and the news media in America should draw you to one individual. He is the one who has the answer to all of life’s problems and holds the future in His hands.

The hymn writer put it well:

Jesus is the answer for the world todayAbove Him there’s no other; Jesus is the wayJesus is the answer for the world todayAbove Him there’s no other; Jesus is the way

John 14:6

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

He never said the wrong thing. Two thousand years of inspection has shown Him and Him alone to be perfect. Life will let you down, but He will lift you up.

Think about it.
