Ashamed

Anyone looking back over his or her life can think of things he or she is ashamed of, that can’t be corrected. However, there is one tremendous truth we can embrace that we are not ashamed of and that is the good news of salvation.

Romans 1:16

“I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes..

My prayer for you today is that you have fully embraced the gospel and carry it as a badge of honor.

Give it some thought.

Design

Where did we come from and why does the map of world nations look like a jigsaw puzzle?

The Athenians were highly educated and connoisseurs of good poetry so Paul tapped into that knowledge.

Acts 17:26-28

From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. ‘For in him we live and move and have our being. ‘As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’

The design and implementation of all that we see belongs to the author and creator of time and space.

Give it some thought.

Unseen

How is your vision? Have you been to your optometrist lately? Here is one deficit that a professional can’t fix.

2 Corinthians 4:18

as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

The unseen things can only be seen through the lens of Scripture. The life here is temporary, but the life after here is eternal.

Take a look at that.

Think about it.

Business

Religion is a major business in the United States, much as it was in Israel in Jesus’s day. Matthew records the attitude of God towards such shenanigans.

Matt. 21:12

Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves.

We, as believers, should turn away from this industry that only seeks monetary remuneration for its evil schemes. Jesus was the living example of true religion. Embrace Him and everything He stands for this day.

Think about it.

Relief

Many of us have memories of the difficulties of putting together a swing set for the kids or a grill for the back yard. The frustration of trying to figure out the complicated directions can be overwhelming.

Thankfully, the most important information for mankind is not complicated.

Read carefully the following:

Romans 1:16

“I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes..”

I can understand that, the power to save me comes from God and not me. As the AlkaSeltzer advertisement goes, “Oh, what a relief it is.”

Give it some thought

Invitation

God was giving Israel an invitation to enter into His plan for them.  One of the great invitations given to this nation happened over 2500 years ago.

Jeremiah 29:13

And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

God has given you an invitation to be part of His plan for this world and the one to come.  Don’t lose the invitation; use it because it is for a limited time only.

Two Roads

Robert Frost penned a decision that changes the trajectory of an individual’s life.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

The Apostle Paul chose a road less traveled.

Acts 24:20-24

And see, now I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that will happen to me there, except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that chains and tribulations await me. But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

Two roads will diverge and we will have to make a decision. But remember, you can’t return and choose the other.

Give it some thought.
