Jesus gives the sheep an alternative.
John 10:27
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
The one who put us here knows our each and every need better than we do.
Can you hear Him calling?

The world wants to conform us and God desires to transform us. These are two opposing forces pressing in on the life of every believer. The one that will win is the one that we allow complete access to our decisions.
Romans 12:2
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Every day is a new day of choices that we make in relation to what part God is going to play in our existence.
God has a will for us and so does the world.

According to the National Science Foundation, an average person has about 12,000 to 60,000 thoughts per day. Of those, 80% are negative and 95% are repetitive thoughts. If we repeat those negative thoughts, we think negative thoughts way more than we think positive thoughts.
After reading that, I felt very tired and really didn’t desire to give it another thought. Considering my reading audience, I came to believe it might have some significance for all of us.
Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
Now that was food for thought.

The pickup truck was a 56 GMC. Dad just bought it on payments and I was a four- year- old kid standing on the seat, waiting for him to get in and drive home and show off that new truck.
That truck is long gone and so is Dad. Just a memory from 64 years ago is all that remains.
Don’t hang unto much because everything that this world gives doesn’t last.
How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.
Life goes by quickly so make sure your Creator has a significant part in each and every endeavor.

The song title was, “My Elusive Dreams” by Claude Rich. It was about a young couple moving about the country trying to find something that was only in the man’s imagination. Whatever his dream was, in reality, it only existed in his imagination.
Over three thousand years ago, Solomon tried the same thing in a different country. This is the statement he made about that pursuit.
Then I looked on all the works that my hands had done And on the labor in which I had toiled; And indeed all was vanity and grasping for the wind.
Fourteen times in the book of Ecclesiastics he mentions chasing the wind.
My prayer is that none of my readers would spend a lifetime doing that.

Any time I can be heading somewhere early in the morning just as the sun is coming up, life is good. Holding a cup of coffee in one hand and watching the beauty of Maine being uncovered by the sun is pure joy. I’m a morning person and breakfast is my favorite meal of the day.
The Psalmist had a morning prayer that would be good for any believer to imitate.
Psalm 143:8
Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning,
For in You do I trust;
Cause me to know the way in which I should walk,
For I lift up my soul to You.
Start your morning with a good spiritual breakfast in the Word of God. One never knows what a day may bring forth, and because of that, the soul must bathe in the presence of God.

Anne Murray sang it so well, “A Little Good News.” One line in that song states, “One more sad story’s one more than I can stand.”
The Bible gives good news.
Proverbs 25:25
As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.
The Gospel is translated good news. It comes from a far country and tells us our sins have been paid for, and we can enjoy a new life with the presence of our creator.
