Tim McGraw’s “Live Like You Were Dying” is a powerful country ballad about a man who receives a terminal diagnosis but responds with profound gratitude and emotional healing rather than despair. The lyrics urge listeners to re-evaluate their priorities, let go of grudges, and appreciate the people and moments that truly matter.
I liked the song, but the brief mention of the “good book“frightened me. Reading the Bible is an exercise in futility if it doesn’t lead to the finished work of Christ. Atheists, religionists and those in cults read the Bible and the effort is meaningless. We do not gain eternal points for just reading Scripture.

Don’t miss Him. This crowd had that problem. They searched the Scriptures and were blind to the One of which it spoke of. Life is not about activity but getting right with the Creator. It’s a good song, just lacking the appropriate message. Give it some thought.
