A terrible activity many probably endured was standing up in front of class and giving an oral book report. Some skipped school that day and others wished the bus would run over them before embarking on it. Some, like me, could do it even if we hadn’t read the book. However, looking foolish was sometimes the biproduct.
The nation of Israel was also prone to the malady of overconfidence. Case in point:
Joshua 7:3-4
They returned to Joshua and said to him, “Do not let all the people go up; only about two or three thousand men need go up to Ai; do not make all the people toil up there, for they are few.” So about three thousand men from the people went up there, but they fled from the men of Ai.
Be careful with overconfidence because it can have the potential to make a fool of you. This is taken from my personal diary. Give it some thought.
